Well against much ridicule and opposition from most on this forum I stuck to my guns that Abbott would get dumped and replaced with Turnbull. On both of these I was proven correct.

Now only Footy, Dex and myself seem to be the only one's that think Turnbull has a plan and will sail through to the next election. I will hang my hat on this and if I am wrong will cop in on the chin, but guys you will have to do the same

Need not go into Malcolm's background to point out that he is a strategic thinker but consider that Turnbull's tilt at the leadership was considered one of the most strategic and clinical leadership spills ever.

The look at what has happened in recent times, Turnbull managed to get the green's on side to get the senate voting reforms passed. At the time it was just a bit of legislation but it turns out that it will be helpful should a DD be called.

Then almost out of the blue Turnbull gets parliament recalled to debate the ABCC legislation, note that recalling parliament under circumstances like this is something that has not been done in 102 years. Turnbull at the same time has the GG announce the budget would be a week earlier and threatens going to a DD if the legislation is not past.

Turnbull had obviously put some thought into this and there is every indication that be is not bothered if the legislation is not passed and we go to a DD or if the legislation is passed and there is no DD. Again given that Turnbull is a strategic thinker I would say he has a plan which ever way it goes.

Highly likely we will know if we are going to a DD or not ahead of the budget, Turnbull and Morrison have been working on the budget and are not saying much on what may or not be on the cards. Leaks are just about non existent.

Regardless of if we go to a DD the budget will be Turnbull's and Morrison starting point for showing their economic leadership and credentials which will pave the way for the election campaign.

Maybe I am over estimating Turnbull a bit but I think most here are under estimating Turnbull by a long way.

So that's my view, it's based on a objective open minded assessment of Turnbull.

Will I be proven right again
