I'm sure compromises are made on small issues, but I don't think Juukan Gorge was one of those. That was a natural and cultural disaster.
Sad fact is though, it had no bearing on the shareprice of RIO.
And as much as some would hope that the lump of coal RIO shareholders are receiving for Christmas this year could be put down to some divine karma, fact is, it is structural change in the iron ore game far beyond our shores that is the driver.
