I wonder if any Chinese companies have approached ELK regarding a JV for Grieve. It might not seem like a big enough deal for them but I think they would view it as a low cost way of getting access to technology and developing expertise that they could then use in their domestic oil fields. It would also be a cheap entry into a share of more than 20 million barrels of oil.
Chinese have lately been spending big money on oil and gas assets in north America. They did a recent deal with Chesapeake for their niobrara acreage in Wyoming and they are prepared to pay top dollar. It's always possible that they come up with an offer that is considerably higher than what anyone else offers for Grieve.
