for the payment of an "underwriting fee" the underwriter commits to take up any shortfall in the options being exercised by the option holders
The company is prepared to pay this fee as it gives them the legal certainty that the options will be exercised and the company will receive 1.5c for each option that is converted to a normal RMX share
as I understand it patersons have not at this stage signed a binding underwriting agreement but wish to be first in line
Obviously before Paterson commits they would want to see the RMX share price holding well above 1.5c
but imo it is a positive as presumably Patersons must have some level of confidence that the drilling will continue to deliver positive results
