Yes I agree it is a shame they aren't doing things electronically, and yes it would be more cost effective than issuing laser printed cheques. Perhaps someone is "old school" and doesn't want to understand the new ways of electronic transfer, or it could be an internal security thing for one who fears fraudulent transactions.
Oh well, I'm sure the refunds won't be too far away.
