@angusmcfangledang The doctrine of the Trinity did not derive from the Nicaea council and there is not one deity that resembles remotely the Triune God of the Bible.

The Holy Ghost was not the focus of the debate or really debated in any sense but was tacked on at the end of the council.
1 Cor 8;6
6 yet for us there is but one God, the Father, from whom all things came and for whom we live; and there is but one Lord, Jesus Christ, through whom all things came and through whom we live.
1Cor 8:6 is the extended shema in the New testament (Deuteronomy 6:4 Hear, O Israel: The LORD our God, the LORD is One.), you cannot take your argument all that far because God is also called Lord so one does not exclude the other, with this verse in particular the Greek speaking and reading Jews would have read eis Kyrios one LORD
Eis Kyrios are coupled it only refers to Jehovah God
Jesus quotes the shema and the Lord who is Almighty God is called eis kyrios

So again it destroys the notion of two divine beings in the United Church of God off shoot of Armstrongism and affirms the monotheism of Christianity.
Again if you did a modicum of homework you can see how this verse was actually used against the Arians.
There was a poster many years ago who became a Unitarian and kept quoting a book called the Two Babylons by Alexander Hislop showing the pagan origins of the Trinity this book may be of interest to you showing the undeniable pagan links to the trinity. Now this poster unfortunately missed the point that Alexander was a hypertrinitarian and it was just a proto bashing Mick book. Once I pointed the premise of the book out to him 'Mr B' felt pretty flat.
