Do you not see supplication and thanksgiving in Islamic prayer? Set prayers or not, they are supplicating to God. Did you know that before Muslims pray they ask God "in their own words, quietly in their hearts" without any set form, for what the prayer is dedicated towards and then they say their set prayer.
