I think the point he is trying to make Mr G is that we really dont know what belief is false or not until we see the fruits of that belief in action.
Is claiming ownership of truth and damnation of those who "you" say do not hold the truth a belief that yields goodly fruits? Does it somehow embrace loving people who do not "believe" what you say is the "correct belief"? (and by "you" here I'm talking generally)
It's a good question to ask oneself to see if we are in righteous relationship with our Creator, and the Creator of every other human being.
