"Environmental Clean Technologies welcomes these moves by the Victorian Government, especially as they recognise the need to dovetail these allocations with technology to increase value and mitigate environmental impacts...

Current ‘Proven at Pilot Scale’ level of development to be ready for commercial deployment. Our prospective new Cornerstone Investor Monash Capital are keen to support this effort, and we’re keen to move forward as speedily as possible. As such, ECT are ready to explore the Government’s allocation process when it is ultimately made public to investigate how this could bolster our efforts already underway to commercialise Coldry technology

Why would ECT so enthusiasticly state the above if they were not intending to be in the Pilbara mix? Note the Herald comment below "pilots up and running".

This article below is worth another look. Its mostly about Exergen - likely due to them being unlisted. I notice the exiled one on Alcatraz is active this weekend posting (via BR...naughty boys - VHM lol) as if Exergen are the main players in the Pilbara.

We need to remember Exergen are after only 1B tonnes of the potential 13B up for grabs - so they will likely not be "the" major players in the Pilbara. Which tech(s) will be utilized for the rest of the allocations?

"The State Government says talks to export brown coal from the Latrobe Valley have progressed quickly.

Critics of the export proposal say it is premature because the technology to remove the moisture from brown coal, so it can be transported safely, could be more than a decade away"
    .

University of Qld (The University of Queensland is a research-intensive institution in the top 1% of universities world-wide) have proven Coldry to be a "same risk" as QLD/NSW exported coals. No doubt this fact gets Govt attention. How many other LV focussed techs can claim this? The number of serious Pilbara candidates shrink.

Sure - the Datang 2000 tonne sample would/will prove the above in practice - but this goes for any other aspiring tech like Exergen as well. UQ is good enough it seems. Clearly the critics comment its "more than a decade away" is wrong.

"But Mr O'Brien says the technology is developing fast"

Sure - Exergen/Tata have been very active Oct onwards - but ECT have been too. DFT started Oct and by Govt Pilbara ann mid March - Id say the all important DFT 1 was largely done. Interesting that AGL went to 100% on Feb 24. Monash came on Mar 15 (Dr Brockway no threat at all despite the dizzy attempts) Interesting the ESI sp doubled from 0.5 to 1c in the week prior to the AGL Feb 24 ann...and kept going(where would it be now without the Euro hassles/delays?)

Its fair to say Coldry has been "developing fast" Box ticked.

"We've already heard from some companies who have pilots up and running, who believe the technology does work," he said "

Refer to ECT ann above - Coldry Pilot heading to demo asap via Monash. How many other LV focussed techs can claim this? The number of serious Pilbara candidates shrink again...how many left...?

Its very very clear the Govts are focussed on NEW drying techs that have pilot plants economicly operational NOW. Interesting.

In addition to the above - IF ARUP were not conducting the DFT at AGL/LYP, IF Metamorphosis Mike was not in thick with K-Coal/POSCO/Sojitz/Tincom etc, IF reputable Monash were not deeply into ECT discussions re module SPV...I would not be holding ESI....certainly would not be buying at these levels.

I like the LV focus - zero patent risk - near zero sov risk - World class LV quality lignite - Govts all onboard - FOB v competitors enticing - ~100km to coast etc etc

My research tells me ECT are firmly in the Pilbara mix. Tooo many "co-incidences" to ignore imo...tick tock
