Don't forget about all the flow on effects from just "switching" over ie. All the people who are gainfully employed right now in the small and large businesses helping to run the powergrid. I know for a fact that solar is helping to prop up the grid but in the end it won't be the final answer to electricity generation, gas will definitely be in the mix.
