You´re right with the molybdenum. I see it every day.
I construct presses with a closing force up to 300 tons.
Need a lot of high quality steel for closing mechanisms, guidings etc. .
Twenty years ago when I studied at university I saw the development of high speed milling tool machines for car turbochargers. For the tools a lot of tungsten is needed.
AND not to forget, tungsten is also needed for military purposes. The better the quality of tank armoury steel is, the better the quality of ammunition must be. The US army uses Uranium for the projectiles, I think Germany uses tungsten for the Leopard 1 and 2 ammunition. Obviously so does Australia also?

Thus a lot of peaceful and also military use of molybdenum and Tungsten
