Had it not been for pervasive global markets turmoil, perhaps more attention would have been paid to the recent new drill hole results announced by Extract Resources out of Nambia where governments active in chasing long term energy security include Japan, China, Korea, India, and Russia.
Peter McIntyre, Extract Resources MD, put it this way: "Rossing South is the first new alaskite hosted uranium discovery in Nambia in many years and is shaping up as the most significant discovery since the SJ deposit at the Rossing Mine" a Rio Tinto operation. In other words, Rossing South could emerge as the most significant uranium discovery in Nambia in some thirty years.

Earlier this year, mangement at Extract Resources targeted a 128m to 200m pound uranium oxide resource by the first quarter of 2009, with the expectations towards the upper end of this range, from a strike length of 4km. The Rossing South anomaly, however is some 15km long; the 200m pound target resource comes from two orebodies. At the corporate level, Extract continues to explore the possiblity of combining with its 39% major shareholder kalahari Minerals.
