As for Harris being elected President: I guess it will be. It was just a few weeks ago that the USA was stuck with a choice between a con-man and a invalid.
On the principle that an Anything will beat a Nothing, con-man was believed to be the probable winner come November.
Then the con-man got shot at, stood up and waved his fist: the con-man's cheer squad cheered deliriously: all those silly memes of con-man in a superman suit were suddenly real! Oh, heaven.

Then the invalid in a moment of clarity, this time with an actual flu, decided the jig was up, and stepped out of the race.

And suddenly superman / con-man was stripped of his alter-ego: the one and only thing that has kept Trump viable: an even older and visibly decrepit relic, was gone.
Suddenly there was no Tweedledum to Tweedledee.

The Democrats, with the burden of Biden gone, remembered how good it felt not to have a parasitic cadaver on their backs.

And people started asking: WTF is this old fart doing, running for president? This odious, humourless, lying toad?

We are witnessing the spectacle of a nation vomiting up the bile that has been in their guts for years.

My current feeling is that it won't be close.

But a week is a long time in politics.
