    Post the data that lead you to form this opinion, then we can look at it the tariffs, the types of tariff, the specific goods that have the tariffs and what is the specific aim of the tariff.

    Yes, tariffs can be inflationary but it depends on the economic environment. It's most likely that a broad range of tariffs in the US would be inflationary because their economy currently has high domestic demand and an increasing monetary supply would result in inflation.

    It's unlikely that tariffs in China would be inflationary because they are currently in a period of low domestic demand and the Peoples Bank of China run a different type of monetary policy to the US.
