Elon Musk has come to realise that Trump is going to lose yet again, probably through his advisers. He's aware that Generation Z, along with many women, will decide this result, not grumpy old men who are has-beens like a lot of those on here. Elon is being very careful in not wanting to fully endorse a loser like Trump.

Tesla CEO Elon Musk has denied reports that emerged last week that he was planning to donate $45m a month to a Super Pac focused on getting Trump elected.
On Tuesday, Musk appeared on Jordan Peterson’s show, where he said the claim was “simply not true”. “I am not donating $45m a month to Trump,” he said.
