Something like 95% of new cancer drugs fail during the development/trial process, without big profits for the 5% that make it, no one is going to fund the development of these drugs. It has nothing to do with manufacturing costs.

and of course I knew you would come back with AI as the saviour, while AI is already helping, it's a long way from changing the landscape and cost of new drug development in any great way. Sure one day it might dramatically change it but it takes a particularly brainless individual to kill investment in drug development now because one day AI might make it cheaper. Remember all the numpties a few years ago ready to shut down all our coal fired power because hydrogen was going to be the saviour? yeh just as stupid, where's all the hydrogen plants they promised?

and all of this doesn't even consider the utterly braindead policy of Kamala to implement unrealised capital gains tax on the uber wealthy, who is going to start new businesses in the US if they are going to have to sell them once their value goes over $100m just to pay a tax?
