Who said the person was Chinese or that joke isn't from 1960?

Are you saying that someone that lived in Japan during WW2 must be Chinese because they work in Chinese restaurant.

Point of the joke is that:
He was supposed to be beef Chow Mein kamikaze but tricked them by being chicken Chow Mein.

Joke isn't nonsensical nor stupid.
On the contrary: it's clever and funny
