a snapshot of the problem is the kangaroo cull in the news at the moment. kangaroos can become pregnant while lactating,so can have 'one on the ground,one in the pouch,and one on the way.'
plenty of protesters besides themselves emotionally,pleading that the overpopulated reserve be 'just' supplied with food. --at what stocking rate do you keep feeding the roos at? double,triple---when do you stop,and they starve?. with unlimited food,they can double in a year. domestic animals are looked after better,because they can be eaten. pity to see the roo carcasses dumped,the protein wasted,because a percentage of the population emotionally cannot bear to feel that some people like the taste of rooburgers.
