    You do no not miss out on franking credits by participating in the DRP.

    If you need the cash for living expenses, obviously the DRP is not for you.
    In all other cases DRP is 100% the right thing to do.
    Anything that automates the investment decision and avoids the pitfalls of procrastrination, is a good decision.
    (How many times have you wanted to buy something and finding a million excuses to postpone it? - DRP solves this problem, you invest automatically, job done)

    PS. All of the above assumes that you like BHP and its prospects - why wouldnt you?
