re: kcg - gold and silver :-) I thought, politically stable from circa 2000-01, as opposed to 1996.

Still economically unstable, following the economic collapse of 2,000, and the freezing of bank accounts, and foreign currency transactions. Still in effect in a number of areas. I know - it took 3 years to get some money from a related entity out of Argentina (only succeeded in doing so in September, this year).
