re: kcn has gdr in its sights ! I believe KCN wouldn't take such a slice of GDR if they were inhibited by a clause which prevented any future TO, and I'm not sure about that being an acceptable practice either.
KCN have placed themselves in the prime position should GDR prove up to expectations and so far they are looking the goods. Minor explorers and emerging producers need the backing of majors, this is how it's done in the mining industry and I'm sure KCN are not going to make any move until there is proof that the project is a worthwhile investment for a TO. But there are many gold miners on the prowl around the world atm looking for worthwhile minors to TO and I believe this activity is only in it's infant stages in Oz atm, we'll see a lot more of it as gold becomes more sought after.
They may go into a JV with GDR but all that is speculation for the future, but GDR will need money to develop the project into a cash producing venture and KCN has that cash. I'd much rather see someone hovering around them than them being ignored completely as that tells it's own story.
I think GDR along with BDG, BGF, AVO and RSN are all worthwhile having, and all may become targets as time goes by.
Have a good weekend.
Jenny.
