    some poster a couple of months ago gave a good run down of why chatree was such a good mine- and it included things like the local work force, and being on the national grid. it seems now, that the national grid, gets some of its power from hydro, which is why it is so cheap. these comparisons are important, when comparing the chatree mine with potential australian operations, as remote australian mines, rely on expensive "fly in, fly out" labor, and often have to build their own powerplants, which rely on diesel, which seems to be getting more and more expensive.

    it was good to remind investors that the sell down, only relates to the chatree operations, which will include the chatree north leases. however the area outside of the chatree/chatree north leases are not covered by the present agreement. it appears that the chatree/chatree north leases only cover a small portion of the 23km pospective strike length, which extends north and south of the chatree operations. from memory however, thai ownership requirements (see kcn announcment 20 oct 2003), are such that there will be the need for another sell down, should there be success in future exploration.
