l think it is fairly traditional to sell down the company which is making a t/o on the basis of increased risk and likely paying too much for the target.
since gold stocks are volatile anyway 20% variation isnt much, and the traders certainly dont fall in love with stocks.
however l also feel that a correction in gold is happening and that will drop a lot of stocks as gold has risen a long way and one usually expects a 50% price correction before advancing again. it is likely to fall below $1300 again l think
