    I’m clearly smoking less than you. But maybe I also know a lot more than you about the Westminster system. MPs may well disagree but that doesn’t mean you will hear about it

    MPs are elected representing a party. That’s why it’s not just a list of mPs and why governments issue policy statements. So that prople know what the mp they are voting for represents.

    that doesn’t mean they can’t represent their electorate - but there is plenty of room to do that within the system. If they feel they can’t do that within the framework of their party’s policies they can resign from the party and be an independent


    as you know sometimes MPs do cross the floor. They have that right but doing so is a big deal
