I seem to remember that the fear of Costello becoming the next PM was the reason why people voted for Rudd.

As a treasurer, Costello was always smug and couldn't get that wry grin off his face. He often told us what we needed and what he thought was better for the economy. That of course is what he is suppose to do, but that got many people offside, no one likes someone else running their life.

I for one didn't particularly like him as our treasurer but on reflection (seeing who we have in charge now), I would actually love to see what sort of a job he could do as PM or opposition leader. The smugness he portrays and the ability to tell you what is best for you is no good as a treasurer, but these qualities would make him one heck of a leader. (IMO).

Bring it on I say.

Would be great entertainment and he would wipe the floor with Swann and Rudd.
