1. Australia is neither involved in a defensive war, nor is its very existence under threat.
2. Israel - the Jewish State - is fighting a defensive war and its very existence is under threat, and many Jews believe it's their responsibility and obligation to help protect Israel and their fellow Jews, many of whom are probably relatives.
3. It's not a case of Australian Jews being "keen to join the military"....but be assured that if Australia were under threat and/or needed to defend itself, many would willingly and voluntarily join up....as they did during WW1 and WW2.
