John Schumann is no stranger to war songs. He formed the band Redgum, an Australian folk and political group from Adelaide in 1975. He sung the song 'I was only 19' - the following explains what the song is about and the association as later recognised with a condition called PTSD or Post Traumatic Stress Disorder. The song is sung after a brief talk:
The band lineup included both a fiddle and a violin player - the distinction between the two is not the instrument itself but rather the style of music that's being played on the instrument.
