@Sweetsound - Lovely - it's an old stand-by - I still have records with the name 'Szalai' on them - musical skills are probably multi-generational.
The other instrument which always fascinates me, ever since I first saw and heard it in a Hungarian bar in Vienna's Inner City, is the 'cembalom' - the sounds which can be produced on that, are amazing - and the required skills to play it, are phenomenal.
Re 'Honkey nuts' I began by offering the neighbour's kids 1 cent per honkey which they picked up and put in a bucket - soon realised that it would cost me a fortune . . . so now I just leave them until I can't stand them any longer and my less than efficient gardener tries to keep the front tidy.
neigbour's kids have grown up now! - Yikes, I have been here - in the woods - for 15 years! I have got 10 native trees on my land, but also NSW river gums, which only shed blossoms twice a year , but their bark peels in great big sheets.
But I wanted and still want to live in natural surroundings - so I have to put up with 'nature'!
Sweetsound, thanks again for the memories ❤️
