Page 3, SUBMISSION 411 Parliamentary Inquiry into ASIC:
However under the MFAA Constitution, expulsions and suspensions are required to be advised to ASIC and MFAA also publishes these with a summary of reasons to the media and on the MFAA website
(http://www.mfaa.com.au/default.asp?menuid=512).
Summary of Operations of MFAA Tribunal
? There have been 60 expulsions, suspensions or cancellations since the Tribunal was established in 2003.
? The Tribunal has had 383 matters referred to it since its inception.
Following are the main types of conduct that have been found to have been “misconduct”:
? false documentation;
? failure to appropriately verify information provided by borrowers;
? false declarations on membership application or renewal forms;
? misleading borrowers;
? failure to co-operate with the IO or COSL; and
? inappropriate loans.
Would anyone know if MFS insider and relevant party loans
were reported to this institution, Mortgage and Finance Association of Australia?
Regards,
For special note: 60 expulsions in more than 10 years of operations
