Great post Schura...and the fish and chip shop analogy is bang on.

I've been in private business all my life...never listed any of them so I never had the distraction of the market to worry about...thank God!

My job as owner/manager was to nuture and build the top line, the bottom line and the staff (plus a million other small details).

From the corner fish and chipper to CCC to BHP...this formula still applies...and ultimately, the market will pay more for a larger bottom line as generated by strong management.

I reckon the CCC "business scorecard" reads pretty good atm and I really do hope that DT and team continue to monitor and build the business fundamentals rather than read much of the CCC HC thread drivel. Put simply, much of it is juvenile, misguided pent-up gamblers emotion!
