Certainly Gino is under the gun to prove himself - to get Fiji back on track and the Redbank mine producing at reasonable levels with the pit dewatered. The Board, as in any company, is really for guidance only - and we don't know whether the executive management (which is a large chunk of the Board) is taking notice. As with most juniors, even when the fundamentals are good, the now and immediate demands generally govern with any strategic issues lost in the day to day matters. What would a substitute for Gino do exactly that is different or better? RBM probably just needs a little luck - for the exploration JV with Glencore to find something and any extra drilling at the Redbank mine itself to be similarly fortunate. Fiji is not presently in the value equation at all and has only cost money to date but Gino needs to show it can put value into the shareprice. If he can't he needs to rethink its role.
