We should not really worry because they creating work for builders to sell concrete boxes stacked up high into stratosphere in Central Melb or Sydney to Asian enclaves at excessive prices. IMO most Aussies would be smarter not to bother competing for these excessively priced apartments which will be like living in Hong Kong and unable to understand your neighbours arguments. Lots of cheaper houses in outer suburbs or country townships. Only problem might arise if Asian developers will try cut building corners or go broke before buildings are finished and workers and contractors don't get paid. Payment as you go, don't offer credit for more than 1 day imo, prepayment cash will be better imo.
Check in writing the bank has the money to follow through with progress payments, Yes some banks have sent some developers broke by claiming not enough money available to complete loan contracts .
