As a long standing shareholder, but infrequent poster on PLS HC, and in the afterglow of the company's best ever Quarterly Report, I just wanted to personally acknowledge Ken's massive efforts over the last 6 or so years at PLS, as he departs today.
Ken said it best himself in his departure announcement -
Mr Brinsden said he believed it was the right time for him to step back after what will be approximately seven years in the role as CEO of Pilbara Minerals. The decision is motivated by his desire to be able to spend more time with his family and to pursue personal interests after a lengthy career at senior executive levels, within listed companies in the WA resource sector.
“After many exhilarating and, at times, challenging years at the helm of Pilbara Minerals, the Company is now in an excellent position with a strong balance sheet, strong cash-generating capacity from our flagship asset and an exciting suite of growth projects,” he said.
“It has been an absolute privilege to lead Pilbara Minerals from its days as a start-up lithium explorer, and one of the trail-blazers of the sector, to become what it is today – an ASX-100 company with a wonderful culture, an incredible team of hard-working people and a clear vision to become a leader in the clean energy materials space,” he said.
“I am extremely proud of our collective achievements during this period – the speed with which we were able to finance and develop Pilgangoora, the way we responded to commissioning and ramp-up challenges and, ultimately, our response to the downturn in the lithium sector in 2019-20. The Company is now in an enviable strategic, operational and financial position as it takes advantage of current pricing and grows production from Pilgangoora to a targeted level of 1 million tonnes of spodumene concentrate per annum over the coming years.”Ken, you have been an excellent CEO and provided me and many other shareholders with, not only a great story in PLS/Lithium, but an impressively managed operation/s over the 6 + years whilst at PLS.
I met you a couple of times a few years ago on the road at Investor briefings and was always impressed with your enthusiasm and drive, your relaxed demeanour and willingness to 'share the PLS story', and above all, your knowledge of the Lithium markets and PLS' operations. You provided great comfort and assuredness to me, particularly during those 'difficult years'.
You and your team at PLS have provided a great 'financial platform' for not only me, but I'm sure many other shareholders, and I want to thank you publicly today for YOUR efforts.
