Henry also said the GST should be increased. That is sensible as the mechanisms are already in place. As it is, a fair percentage of the tax is negated indirectly on admin costs but an increase in the tax would be all revenue.
I believe the tax on services should be abolished, the tax on goods increased and broadened to include all goods including food.
