DRILLING REPORT: KENMORE-33, PL 32
(EROMANGA BASIN, QLD)
Beach Petroleum advises that drill stem testing of the Hutton Sandstone in
Kenmore-33 has resulted in a stabilised oil flow of 750 barrels per day, with no
accompanying water. The well will now be cased and completed for oil production.
Kenmore-33 is the third successful well in the current appraisal drilling program in
the Kenmore Field. Installation of artificial lift on all 3 wells drilled to date will be
completed in January and is expected to result in initial incremental production of
about of 1,500 barrels of oil per day. The impact of the recent drilling on field
reserves will be determined following an assessment of longer term production
performance.
Drilling operations will be suspended over the Christmas/New Year period and
resume in mid January. The success of the Kenmore program has lead to the
consideration of adding an additional well, Kenmore-34, to the program. This well, if
drilled, will be followed by the Coolum-1 exploration well in ATP 269P and then
Bodalla South-15. The rig will then likely return to the South Australian Cooper
Basin, most probably for the drilling of Almonta-1 in PEL 95 (Beach 50%).
Beach’s offshore drilling program will also commence in January, with Hurricane-1
in WA-208-P (Beach 10%) expected to spud approximately January 6, followed by
Corowa East-1 in WA-264-P (Beach 16.7%).
