That's fine. That was some vestige of the democratic process that survived the coup.
I really wonder what the Queen thought of Kerr's preemptory action? My guess is that she was very unhappy, if not furious, and that's exactly why Kerr proceeded without her permission. For Kerr to have said he was doing it for her sake is laughable.
