I disagree the constitution has served us well and much better than many other countries I like many other Australia's do not trust politicians of any party to make changes to the constitution that would be in the interests of all Australians,the changes would be crafted to serve political and legal interests ahead of the national interest. There was legislation passed in Cain and Kirners time the legal advisors for the government that helped crafting the legislation years later were engaged by parties apposed to the legislation,the upshot was the legislation had more holes than Swiss cheese and was exploited by the legal team that worded it for the government.
