The governor general is a throw back to british colonial rule.
They are an extension of the monarchies powers to places where the monarch could not govern directly.

It’s not a relic but simply being implemented in another format that has already happened thru out the modern world.

It is simply that the youth and some adults cannot recognise it as such!

Many world bodies are acting as distance referees dealing with problems within a country or between countries on many issues that is effects the world community.....think The Hague, WHO, UN and NATO etc.

These establishments get involved to resolve or assist by acting as a distant third parties.

I prefer a distant referee then someone installed to be a lackey to our PM...Kerr deserves accolade for breaking the expected mould when a crisis developed
