    Your accusation is that there was an "embarrassment" to be avoided by the Queen whether or not she was involved. By pretending to declare her to be innocent of embarrassing involvement you've sought to entwine the Queen in what you see as a undesirable event.
    No doubt you still wonder why the "Palace" didn't immediately issue a mea culpa back then.
    Your analogy of Fred missing the horrible bus crash by good fortune is not congruous because the actual bus crash Fred avoided by luck was real whereas the potential royal embarrassment was only ever in your imagination.
    Don't be embarrassed, the dismissal of Whitlam's Labor Gov't was warranted and necessary.
