After so many years of mainly successful Liberal years in Govt and in view of McMahon's sickening acquiescence re Frances Pacific atmospheric nuclear testing, I thought it was time for a change.

Whitlam backed by socialist loons such as Cairns, Crean, Connor, Cameron, crooked Murphy (who I used to see over imbibing at Sydney pubs), ran a dysfunctional mob who acted like they only had one term to introduce their socialist agenda. Apart from some good that the govt did achieve, thankfully SJK put an end to their dream of a socialist "utopia" and ensured that in fact they did only have a short tenure.

Whitlam's desperation for power by engaging the shady ME Khemlani (sp?) to arrange a massive loan to prop up his govt was the ultimate straw that broke the back of any support he had in the community.

I used to think he was the worst PM in Australia's history to date. He was up to 1975. However, Rudd and Gillard have demonstrated that they are on a par insofar as ineptitude and running dysfunctional, ships of fools governments.
