Hey great thread! I agree charcoal webers are worth persevering with as the result is the duck's nuts.
Those cheap chimneys are great for getting charcoal and beads going but I've found the spot welds holding the inner rack don't last too long. I butchered my last one and made it more sturdy as the inner rack had fallen out.
