Point taken but it was too good to be true as quoted in lead blog.

As I see it the tension in the Liberal Party is mainly over spending cash. Now this would be borrowed cash which is needed to blunt spend-a-lot Bill's crazed rash of expensive promises which would be paid for with borrowings.

Modern pollies don't seem to be able to point to Greece as a Social-Democrat disaster. Spend-a-lot Bill is racing around making vote buying promises which will lead us to a Greek style sad ending. The cunning guy knows that he will be gone when disaster arrives. Weak kneed Libs want to match him in order to neutralize the vote drift which the promise of cash brings on.
