always good commentary by tim blair
Rudd takes a basic historical framework and then alters it until Kevin Rudd is depicted as a great Australian hero brought down by terrible forces of evil.
As Rudd now tells it, his primary nemesis was the Daily Telegraph and other News Corp newspapers. “It is not a news organisation,” Rudd said of News Corp. “It is a political party.”
“Dealing with the Murdoch mafia,” Rudd continued, “is kind of like dealing with a daily evisceration.” Please. Very few Mafia targets remain in frequent contact with their alleged tormentors, as Rudd did when Julia Gillard was Prime Minister.
mmm ..The Daily Telegraph endorsed Hawke in the 1990 election, Keating in 1993 and 1996 and Rudd in 2007.

What a terrible slight against PJK for him to only be awarded life membership of the ALP now, and on the same day as two others who did nothing but undermine his impressive legacy.
