what you say is all well and good but the fact is that the feds have given the states billions in gst revenue in exchange for a raft of state charges to be dropped and they have had ample opportunity to address the problem but greed obviously feeds the labor void.
the commonwealth govt simply cannot be blamed for the lack of affordable housing nor can they be blamed for the lack of education and hospital funding.
now all of the states are clamouring for the commonwealth to take over all of those services whilst expecting to keep the gst.
these are constitutional matters and im sure that rudd is aware of that as are the states premiers
