Interesting debate, I would like to add that it was Federal Labour Govt that increased their Pay which caused the knock on affect in qld, and qld Labour which caused the problem by not passing it on in the first place. I have not seen that mentioned by Labour supporters.
I also like to make mention of the so called CPI inflation rate which is used to award workers wage increases and also to disguise true cost of living increases, WHY DOES THIS NOT APPLY TO POLITICIANS? It would seem that the way they increase their pay gives a more accurate idea of what true inflation is IMHO.
I would also like to add that those who believe in the ideal that level of Pay dictates level of performance has not been of benefit in Politics and never will as Principles cannot be bought with Cash, you either have them or you don't and I think that is the main problem we have today and I cannot see it ever improving.
