not all people are as mobile as the skilled professionals who can "migrate' to where the jobs are. This had always been the fallacy in the constant chant of the previous government to go to where the jobs were.

Movement of labour is inelastic; capital can move freely to where profits can be made, almost at the click of a button :-)

I mean, the former prime minister did not even want to move from Sydney to live in the Lodge in Canberra, not a great physical distance from home, and yet he critisized on radio 3 teenagers who did not take up some job offers because they did not want to live away from home. Fair go.
