One thing that can give us comfort somewhat is both the PM and the Opposition Leader were wealthy before they both entered parliament. So we can't really say that these two are in politics for the money. Rudd also has no trade union history, so that's another plus for him.
But the rest of them, Labor: ex-trade union cohorts, just there for the easy ride; Liberal: corporate rejects trying to look important. Seems like a marriage that could be made in heaven!
So why doesn't Labor and Liberal join forces, because that's certainly what union lobbyists and much the questionable corporate world have already done!
