FOREIGN Minister Kevin Rudd had a run-in with airport security while flying to New York - for carrying a jar of Vegemite.
Mr Rudd was flying from Mexico City to attend next week's United Nations General Assembly meeting when his Vegemite was flagged as a potentially dangerous liquid.
He tweeted about the incident, saying he needed "foreign ministerial intervention".
Mr Rudd's office confirmed the incident and said he needed assistance from officials at the Mexican Foreign Service, who were escorting him to through the airport, to get the Vegemite on to the plane.
