Further to my earlier post, read below as well. Like I said before, when Bauxol proves beyond any doubt that it works, they will make their road in a 'straight line' rather than having to lengthen the road to avoid any contaminating regions...:)

I-80 interchange plans change to avoid pyrite

Construction plans for a high-speed interchange between I-99 and Interstate I-80 have been changed to eliminate the need to make a road cut through iron pyrite, the state Department of Transportation said Thursday.

"We're trying to stay away from mountainside cuts totally," PennDOT district executive Kevin Kline said.

The high-speed interchange in northeastern Spring Township will provide for a confluence of interstate traffic east of Bellefonte, where I-80 knifes through a gap in Bald Eagle Mountain and a stream, Nittany Creek, flows through the gap into Bald Eagle Creek above Sayers Dam.

Construction of the interchange has not yet been funded by the state. A tentative bid-letting date has been set for 2008.
