Well, there are different types of gaps, but using a candle chart, if there is no overlap of any part of the candle body or wicks from day to day, that's a classic gap.
In the case you are discussing there would be no top wick on the first day and no bottom wick on the second day and the candle bodies would not overlap at all.
A gap it is, but the smallest possible gap theory allows.
